Fix Dental Memberships – How it works
Stay on top of your dental health year-round with complimentary check-up and cleans every six months. If you need x-rays during those appointments, they’re included as well. It’s an incredibly cheap way to ensure that you are receiving regular dental treatment and staying ahead of any major dental issues before they grow into a serious problem.
What’s involved in a Checkup and Clean?
During a checkup and clean we will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums and overall oral region to gain a clear picture of your dental health and identify any issues that need to be addressed. If x-rays are necessary in order to get a clearer picture of the situation, we’ll conduct these too. Following your examination you’ll receive a full clean and fluoride treatment. The fluoride treatment helps maintain your tooth enamel and may also reduce the presence of harmful bacteria around your teeth and gums.
What makes teeth stained?
Staining on the external surface of the teeth is often caused by a pellicle film. This is a layer of waste that builds up over time on the outer enamel layer of your teeth. This outside layer is relatively simple to clean for most people. Some teeth whitening toothpastes will be able to strip away the film from your teeth due to their abrasive properties.
However, teeth enamel is porous. This means that over time, some waste and foreign material will become embedded in the enamel. When this material becomes enmeshed inside the top layers of your enamel, it can be incredibly difficult to remove without professional tools. While these stains are usually harmless, they can be less than aesthetically pleasing.
