Acrylic partial dentures are acrylic teeth are bonded to an acrylic base plate. They often have little metal wires that surround some of your natural existing teeth for better retention. Acrylic partial dentures are useful for when you have some of your existing teeth but you would like the missing gaps to be filled. The acrylic teeth are colour-matched to your existing teeth and therefore if you are missing any front teeth that can be seen in your smile, an acrylic partial denture provides a quick way of giving your smile back.

Partial chrome dentures are similar to acrylic partial dentures except the acrylic teeth are attached to a metal base plate. These dentures are more tooth supported and therefore apply less pressure to your gums. Because the base plate is made out of metal, it is stronger than an acrylic denture and thinner so often more comfortable to wear.

Immediate full dentures are a set of dentures with all your teeth on it. For a lot of people they know they will need all their remaining teeth removed however do not want to walk around without teeth. With immediate dentures, we make the denture before taking out the teeth. Once the denture is ready, the patient has their teeth removed and the plate inserted on the same day. You can then wear the denture and allow natural healing to take place. Often the bone will need to reshape and remodel and your gums will change shape after 6 months. You can then take your denture and get it lined with new acrylic material for a better fit.

Implant retained dentures are for people who find their denture uncomfortable because they feel loose. For some patients, wearing dentures can be difficult to get use. Patients may feel that they are uncomfortable to wear or move around when they are eating. In such cases, placing some implants can greatly help with keeping dentures in place thereby increasing comfort and function. Implants are placed in the jaw and attachments are placed into a denture that then clip on and off to the implants. Depending on your bone you may need 2 or more implants to be placed. ** excludes implant costs.
